Douglas Franklin serves as President of AAC CALIFORNIA Inc. and is a seasoned building lead with over three decades of mastery in high-end housing, design-build processes, and fireproof architecture. He is a specialist in wildfire-hardened residences using Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC), steel frames, and smart technologies. Douglas has managed major developments in states including Colorado and Texas, guiding every step from initial AAC promotion to field team training. Today, his primary objective is restoring regions devastated by California fires by providing ecologically sound, high-efficiency, fire-safe homes built for enduring safety and peak craftsmanship. He remains a prominent voice in the push for modern, safe building standards.
Angelo stands as a premier authority and a true catalyst in the Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) sector with over three decades of professional practice. Serving as President of AC Construction Consulting and Managing Director of AAC America, he has been central to the expansion of the AAC market across the United States. Throughout his journey, he has successfully launched and led two major domestic AAC firms, YTONG and ACCO. His hands-on leadership covered site acquisition, high-tech equipment sourcing, and the successful oversight of factory builds, highlighting his prowess in logistics and operational strategy. His mastery goes far beyond corporate management. He has been a chief architect of technical marketing, product trial phases, and fabrication workflows. His deep technical insight was vital in drafting engineering standards reviewed by federal building code bodies to ensure safety and precision. With a truly international outlook, he collaborated with elite European manufacturing teams during multiple leadership assignments abroad, gaining unique perspective on global manufacturing innovations. With nearly 40 years in the trade, Angelo holds a profound grasp of product life cycles and sales logistics. He launched his career in quality control labs, dedicating years to the rigorous testing of building materials. Beyond his executive duties, he has been a stalwart member of ASTM for 30 years, drafting the literal standards that govern the industry. Having chaired the ASTM C-15-10 AAC Masonry Standards committee, his leadership directly influences national building regulations. As a creator and past Chairman of the AACPA, Angelo drives industry progress through unified advocacy and technical education. He also operates a private construction firm focused on bespoke homes and boutique commercial projects, utilizing AAC as the definitive building solution. His end-to-end expertise allows him to direct the full lifecycle of new manufacturing facilities while mentoring the next generation of industry leaders. Through his vast experience and technical skill set, Angelo continues to redefine the possibilities of modern construction.
